Fans React to Tahj Miles' Marlon Pryce Leaving Death in Paradise: A Permanent Goodbye?

Any fans looking to gather confident clues from the 'following episode' promotion will be sharply disappointed.

Not exclusively is Miles Pryce discernibly absent from the clips as a whole, the Commissioner also makes notice of another partner. This suggests that, by the upcoming episode, Marlon will have proactively been supplanted.

Entertainer Miles really addressed the possibility of his exit back in February 2023.

At the point when asked about the probability that Marlon would be killed off, Miles said (through Express): "I'm content with anything makes sense for the show.

"By the day's end, the show is the most significant thing."

He also added, "Obviously as actors, we are selfish about our characters, and we maintain that our characters should have the best storylines.

"Yet, on the off chance that my storyline doesn't work for the show and it doesn't find a place with the show's greater picture then I wouldn't believe that should occur.

"Whatever happens with my personality I maintain that it should work for the whole show.

"So assuming it's a good idea for the show [for Marlon to be killed off] and for my personality then that is what it is."

Fortunately Marlon isn't the homicide of-the-week casualty, albeit some eyebrows were raised when he was cut on the head toward the beginning of the episode.

His 'fit as a fiddle status' does pass on space for him to return, should this newcomer not work out.

It also seems like there is still some unfinished heartfelt business among him and sergeant Naomi (Shantol Jackson).

Naomi might have explained away her improvised Christmas kiss, yet her seeking Marlon out with Hummingbird cupcakes just to let him know the amount she's extremely going to miss him, wreaks of unresolved feelings.

Could that imply that Marlon's slick and clean exit is not so wrapped up? Ideally.

Miles' personality offers a lightness and an upbeat spirit that balances the idiosyncratic, serious natures of his different colleagues. An investigator squad without Marlon would feel somewhat wrong.

New episodes of Death in Paradise are airing on Sundays at 9pm on BBC One. The main show and its spin-off, Past Paradise, both air on BBC One and stream on BBC iPlayer.
