Amy Dowden has revealed she is heading back to hospital amid her ongoing cancer battle. The BBC Strictly Come Dancing star has shared an update on her ongoing health battle on Instagram, via her Story, nine months on from her breast cancer diagnosis.

In an Instagram Story shared yesterday, Amy shared a photo of herself with her husband Ben Jones at a spa. The pair posed in white robes and looked to be having a ball of a time after revealing she had recently been feeling unwell.

“After feeling really rough the last few days (nasty cough) thank you for a lovely spa day today Ben,” she wrote, adding the sparkly pink heart emoji. Amy revealed that the spa day was an “early Valentine’s treat” as she will be returning to the hospital on Wednesday.

It comes after Amy's return to the BBC was confirmed. Dare To Dance with Amy is back for a second series, the corporation has confirmed. “When I dance, I feel like I can overcome anything,” says Amy. “It’s something I want more people to experience, I really believe it can change your life.”

Caerphilly-born Amy will meet some incredible would-be-dancers from across Wales in series two. But she won’t be training them alone. After being diagnosed with cancer days in to filming, Amy will also call on the help of her dance family among them Strictly pros Dianne Buswell and Graziano di Prima and ex Strictly finalist, respected dancer and choreographer Oti Mabuse.

You can also look forward to a cameo from Wrexham FC co-owner and Welcome To Wrexham star Rob McElhenny. "Head to @bbcpressoffice link in bio and hit latest news to find out more about the new series coming soon to BBC One Wales and iPlayer #DareToDance," the BBC said on social media last week.
