What's Happening to a Major Character in Cobra Kai? Fans Express Concerns Amid Season 6 News

Did Cobra Kai just reveal the fate of one of the show's most popular characters for season 6? According to fans, it seems like it — and they're nervous about what's to come.

In a surprise update posted on the Netflix series' Instagram, longtime viewers were shocked when the show dropped a first look photo of the cast as they film Cobra Kai's final season. As folks see the students stand alongside Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio), Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka) and Chozen Toguchi (Yuji Okumoto) in their joint dojo, the show left folks completely intrigued by what's to come.

"Yes, Sensei!" read the official caption uploaded on February 1. "Here's a behind the scenes peek of the filming of the biggest, baddest, and final season of Cobra Kai."

Although people were ecstatic to see  give a major update on the last installment of Cobra Kai, some eagle-eyed folks noticed something peculiar about the image. When they went to the comments section, they voiced how one of the show's most popular characters was nowhere to be seen.

"WHERE IS HAWK" one person screamed on Instagram about the absence of Eli "Hawk" Moskowitz (Jacob Bertrand). "Where are Hawk and Demetri who are not in the photo?" another inquired, also mentioning Hawk's best friend Demetri Alexopoulos (Gianni DeCenzo)."Gosh the writing of this show is just so good. To see all these characters come full circle and stand with each other is so rewarding feeling. But where’s Hawk??" a different follower added.

While it's unclear why Hawk isn't present in the group photo, fans don't need to worry about him being written out of Cobra Kai season 6. As Xolo Maridueña (who plays Miguel Diaz) posted on Instagram the day the update came out, Hawk will be back to complete his story — with a blue mohawk in tow.

As fans know, the end of Cobra Kai season 5 saw the Cobra Kai and Miyagi-Do dojos gearing up for the international Sekai Taikai tournament. As the Cobra Kai students deal with the loss of their sensei Terry Silver (Thomas Ian Griffith), fans also learned that former sensei John Kreese (Martin Kove) faked his death in prison and is now out to avenge Silver's wrongdoings. And given how everyone's storylines blend at one point or another, it's likely this will become an interesting plot as the show comes to a close.
