Hugh Jackman has consistently refuted any claims of resorting to steroids to attain the muscular physiques required for his superhero roles. He’s slated to make a reprisal as his iconic character Logan, also known as Wolverine, in the forthcoming superhero flick Deadpool 3, alongside his close friend, actor Ryan Reynolds.
Currently gracing Broadway for The Music Man, Jackman’s closing act is scheduled for January 15, 2023, after which he’ll dive back into preparation to regain the Wolverine physique.
Making his mark in Hollywood, the actor catapulted to recognition with X-Men (2000), where he debuted as Logan. He shared the screen with esteemed co-stars Patrick Stewart, James Marsden, Famke Janssen, and Ian McKellen in this adaptation of the comic book. Following this, Hugh has donned the Wolverine persona in a series of sequels and installments, including X2, X-Men: The Last Stand, X-Men Origins: Wolverine, X-Men: First Class, The Wolverine, X-Men: Days Of Future Past, X-Men: Apocalypse, and Logan.
Did Hugh Jackman Take Steroids For His Physique?
HugDuring a recent appearance on HBO’s talk show Who’s Talking to Chris Wallace, Hugh Jackman addressed allegations suggesting that he had resorted to steroids to undergo his character’s transformation. In response to the journalist’s inquiry, which alluded to the longstanding speculation, the question posed was whether he had ever engaged in steroids to achieve the changes in question.
“No, I love my job. And I love Wolverine. I got to be careful what I say here, but I had been told anecdotally what the side effects are of that. And I was like, ‘I don’t love it that much.’ So no, I just did it the old school way. And I tell you, I’ve eaten more chickens — I’m so sorry to all the vegans and vegetarians and to the chickens of the world. Literally the karma is not good for me. If the deity has anything related to chickens, I’m in trouble,” Hugh Jackman said.
In the previous year, the actor graced the screen in the familial narrative The Son, sharing the spotlight with Laura Dern, Vanessa Kirby, Zen McGrath, Hugh Quarshie, and Anthony Hopkins. Hugh has openly mentioned that he had repeatedly declined offers to reprise the role of Wolverine over time, claiming a lack of interest. However, his disposition changed when an intuitive sense led him to reconsider.
