Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is the latest installment in a franchise that launches a new game every year. FPS fans were not too pleased with Activision when it released Modern Warfare 3 in 2023, with an extremely lackluster and lazy single-player story. This has made the game the worst-scored Call of Duty of all time, with a 56 overall in Metacritic. But the dedicated fanbase kept playing and consuming the game until now. Thanks to the new update, some players are experiencing very odd matchmaking issues that makes no sense; this could be the final nail in the coffin.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and a very poor community support

After a very poor start, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 keeps betting on new content and collaboration with the new season. But this is not enough for various players who are not very happy about the new matchmaking in the latest update of the game. This adds up to the very bad management of the campaign in Modern Warfare 3. Which was very criticized for having little to no new content and almost being a DLC.

A Reddit user, ivory_tusks, pointed out that the matchmaking was being very unfair and that the game was just not a fun thing to play. Several players replied, saying the same thing and talking about how they died continuously with zero chance of killing any enemy in the match. One user even said that he was killing 30 people and dying more than 60 times. They were all agreeing that this matchmaking takes all the fun out of the game and just frustrates players enough to go on to another game.

Call of Duty has a very severe problem with cheaters; the game has already banned more than 20,000 accounts just in November of last year. This matchmaking issue could be another wave of cheaters. Activision will have to look into this concern to see if they are cheaters or just bad matchmaking. The official social media of Call of Duty:

Modern Warfare 3 has not posted anything about this possible concern, so for the moment, not that many players have complained about it.This very popular first-person shooter franchise is very far from dead, but players are talking very loud, and some changes have to happen for future games.

Activision is focusing more on bundles and live-service content than on the game itself. The new Call of Duty has a lot of work to do, or it could end up like Battlefield in the last couple of years. The other big saga of shooters has fallen into a limbo of bad entries, Battlefield 2042, in its latest failure.
