A fan of FromSoftware's acclaimed open-world RPG Elden Ring created a moving prop arm to cosplay as one of the game's most beloved characters, Ranni the Witch. The fan is hoping to finish the costume in time for an upcoming American convention.
Much like other FromSoftware games, 2022's Elden Ring is known for the challenging gameplay experience it provides players. Many people were also drawn in by the title’s expansive world, diverse characters, and interesting narrative, the latter of which was crafted with the help of renowned novelist George R.R. Martin.
Among the most popular of Elden Ring's NPCs is Ranni, a mysterious figure in the game who can be easily distinguished by her blue skin, doll-like features, and four arms. One fan has embarked on a journey to create a Ranni costume, complete with the extra limbs, and they are already making good progress.
FromSoftware's incredibly popular open world Soulslike game Elden Ring gets its first update of the new year.
Florida-based cosplayer Irini Tsanaka showed off the moving prop arm of her Ranni the Witch costume as she shared the daunting project on Reddit. The costume is still a work in progress, but Tsanaka, who also goes by the username Ok_Bread_5117, hopes to have it done just in time for Super MAGFest 2024.
This music and gaming convention in Maryland is scheduled to start on January 18, so Tsanaka only has a few days left to finish her Ranni outfit. Considering the game's popularity, it would not be surprising to see other impressive Elden Ring costumes and props at Super MAGFest 2024.
Fans need not go to conventions to dress up as Elden Ring characters, of course. Another Reddit user, Luthie13, previously dressed up as the dreaded NPC Malenia for Halloween. Also known as the Blade of Miquella and the Goddess of Rot, Malenia is considered by many to be Elden Ring's hardest boss due to her lethal attacks and ability to regenerate health.
NPCs are not the only Elden Ring characters fans have chosen to create costumes of, with people having also recreated player-made avatars. For instance, a DragonCon 2022 attendee dressed up as the avatar of Let Me Solo Her, the legendary Elden Ring player who helped countless gamers defeat Malenia.
In addition to costumes, fans of Elden Ring have expressed their admiration for the game through other means. One Reddit user, -tyranosaure-, made an Elden Ring painting that illustrated Ranni the Witch's tragic backstory. The artwork also featured the events that led up to Elden Ring's popular Age of the Stars ending.
