Well, folks, it looks like our time in Hope Valley has come to an end — for now.
As the season 10 finale of When Calls the Heart aired on October 15, fans were left with many questions about the state of the town's beloved citizens. As Elizabeth (Erin Krakow) and Lucas' (Chris McNally) relationship is hanging on by a thread, she finds herself drawn to Nathan (Kevin McGarry) after Lucas leaves Hope Valley to win the gubernatorial race against Governor Balfour (Mark Brandon) and stop him from destroying other small towns in their area.
As the couple try to figure out where they currently stand, we were all on the edge of our seats when Elizabeth gets a shocking message from Bill (Jack Wagner), saying something serious has happened to Lucas while on the road.
Because When Calls the Heart loves to leave fans with cliffhangers, there may be some who wonder whether they'll find out what happened in a potential new episode airing this week.
Is a new episode of When Calls the Heart on tonight?
For those hoping to venture back to Hope Valley, you'll be sadly disappointed. Because the season 10 finale premiered earlier this month, there will be no new episode of When Calls the Heart on Hallmark for the rest of the year.
While the news is undoubtedly upsetting, longtime viewers should not fear. The hit drama already got renewed for season 11 back in February, meaning that upcoming installments of When Calls the Heart are definitely in people's futures. What's more, the show's star and executive producer Erin Krakow mentioned in an interview with TVInsider that there's still a lot more to explore with our favorite group of citizens in future episodes.
"I can say that the good news is that those questions will be answered," she said to the outlet in mid-October. "And pretty much right away, so we’re not gonna have to wait too long in season 11 to get those answers."
When it comes to an exact release date for When Calls the Heart season 11, that's presently hard to determine. With SAG-AFTRA's continued strike against the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP), actors are currently fighting for the chance to receive a fair contract in regard to a myriad of issues. Until we see a resolution between the actors' union and networks/studios, it'll be difficult to figure out when fans can tune back into new storylines taking place in Hope Valley.
