"Outlander Fans, Stay In the Loop! Here's Everything We Know About Season 7B's Release and Cast!"

We still have a wait on our hands for Outlander Season 7B, but it’s set to arrive in 2024. Here’s everything we know about the episodes so far.

The first eight episodes of Outlander Season 7 did not disappoint. They brought us storylines from both A Breath of Snow and Ashes and An Echo in the Bone. We met Adult William, seeing the type of man Lord John Grey raised.

There’s still so much to come. The season of 16 episodes was split in two, with the second half of the season promised in 2024. That hasn’t changed despite the SAG-AFTRA or WGA strikes.

Now eyes are on when we’ll see the show return. What storylines can we expect? And who will be in the upcoming season?

When will Outlander Season 7B premiere on STARZ?

STARZ has not yet given us a definite return date for the show. However, we know that it will arrive sometime in 2024. We’re hoping for somewhere in early 2024, potentially between February and April.

This will depend on any delays due to the show standing in solidarity for the SAG-AFTRA strike. The WGA strike affected Season 8 but not Season 7B. While the series isn’t a SAG show, the actors and EPs did stand in solidarity and may have halted some post-production work, which could have slowed some things down.

How many episodes are in Outlander Season 7B?

This half of the season will have eight episodes. We’ll get all eight on a weekly basis whenever it does premiere on the premium cable network.

Where will you be able to watch Outlander?

The season will air on STARZ. Episodes drop on the streaming app at midnight on the day of release. They then air at 8 p.m. ET/PT on the channel.

If you’re in Canada, the episodes are still set to air on W Network, probably still on Sunday night instead of Friday night if STARZ opts for a Friday viewing again.

The first five seasons are available on Netflix in the U.S.

Who will star in Outlander Season 7, Part 2?

There are a few characters we’re going to see return. They include:

  • Caitríona Balfe as Claire Fraser
  • Sam Heughan as James “Jamie” Fraser
  • Richard Rankin as Roger MacKenzie
  • Sophie Skelton as Brianna “Bree” Fraser MacKenzie
  • John Bell as Ian Murray
  • Charles Vandervaart as William Ransom
  • Izzy Meikle-Small as Rachel Hunter
  • Joey Phillips as Denzell Hunter
  • Diarmaid Murtagh as Buck MacKenzie

We also hope to see the following return, at least for an episode:

  • David Berry as Lord John Grey
  • Caitlin O’Ryan as Lizzie Wemyss
  • Paul Gorman as Josiah and Keziah Beardsley
  • Chris Fulton as Rob Cameron

We also know that we’re expecting the following characters to come back into the story:

  • Graham McTavish as Dougal MacKenzie
  • Lotte Verbeek as Geillis Duncan
  • Steven Cree as Ian Murray
  • Nell Hudson as Laoghaire MacKenzie
  • Layla Burns as Joan MacKimmie

Gloria Obianyo is also coming into the story as Mercy Woodcock. Does that mean we’ll see Hal, Henry, and Dottie Grey?

We will also see Kristin Atherton take on the role of Jenny Fraser Murray. This is exciting, especially after fans got to meet her at Sasnak City: The Gathering  2023.

EP Maril Davis did share that we wouldn’t see César Domboy and Lauren Lyle return as Fergus and Marsali Fraser in Outlander Season 7.

What to expect in Outlander Season 7B?

At the end of the first half of the season, Claire and Jamie finally made it to Scotland. They were with Young Ian, honoring a promise Jamie had made to Jenny years earlier.

This brings up some major storylines from An Echo in the Bone and then into Written in My Own Heart’s Blood.

If the series follows the books, then we’ll have to say goodbye to Steven Cree as Ian Murray. Claire and Young Ian make it back to America before Jamie and Jenny.

The two Fraser siblings are assumed killed on the crossing over, and Claire needs to marry Lord John Grey to protect herself. Of course, Jamie isn’t dead at all, and that means some drama and a lot of trouble for Jamie and John’s friendship, which is currently already a little rocky with them being on separate sides of the war.

William also learns a deep secret that everyone had kept from him. Yes, it’s almost time for him to learn that Jamie is his biological father, and deal with what that means.

What about Bree and Roger? They were living their life in 1980 when Rob Cameron kidnapped Jemmy and took him through the stones. At least, that’s what Roger and Bree assume. Roger and Buck have gone to the past to get Jemmy back, while Bree stays in the present with Mandy.

We’ll get to see Bree’s life in 1980 with Roger gone and dealing with the fear of what happened to her son. Of course, we’ll see Roger and Buck’s journey through the past, which is taking them further back than they expected to go.

For Rachel Hunter, we saw her come across Arch Bug. She has no idea who this man is or the promise he made to Young Ian after the death of his wife. Well, it’s clear that Arch realizes that Ian feels something for Rachel, so things aren’t looking good for her once Ian returns to America.
