Summary
- The upcoming spinoff The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live will tap into Jadis' roots and her role as a CRM warrant officer.
- Jadis has become a high-ranking member of the organization, showing her loyalty to the CRM.
The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live star Pollyanna McIntosh has revealed the upcoming spinoff will touch on Jadis' roots as her character continues developing past her appearance in World Beyond.
The CRM warrant officer was first introduced in the flagship series, where she saved Rick from life-threatening injuries by having her group take him away in a helicopter. Since then, she has become a high-ranking member of the organization, in part because of what she did in the main show.
Speaking with Entertainment Weekly, McIntosh teased that this version of Jadis featured in The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live story will still be recognizable from previous shows.
This includes World Beyond, where she has become a CRM loyalist working closely with others in the group. Check out what McIntosh had to say below:
There will be some of the Jadis that you will recognize from World Beyond. She is in the position of Warrant Officer Jadis Stokes. She is still working with the Civic Republic and the Civic Republic Military.
So she's a committed follower of the CRM, but people are not just their jobs, and the old Jadis that we got to know and who has tried her best but has lost many times is a big driving undercurrent of where she's coming from.
Jadis' Role In The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live Explained
The last time Jadis was seen was in The Walking Dead: World Beyond's ending, where she took Silas under her wing as a solider for the CRM, unaware he is acting as an informant against them.
This development has given her a larger leadership position than ever before, something that will no doubt be explored the next time she appears.
Given just how much time has passed since she captured Rick, it seems she will be more faithful to the group than ever before. The Ones Who Live will explain what happened to Rick following his capture by the CRM, meaning Jadis will appear throughout.
This means her development could be shown over many years as well, explaining how she rose through the ranks of the organization. It may also highlight how much of her original persona remains intact, and what that could mean for her loyalty to the group in the upcoming spinoff.
The Walking Dead's CRM Civil Republic Military explained
The CRM has appeared throughout The Walking Dead and its spinoffs, with audiences yet to learn more. Here is everything known about the group so far.
Since Jadis has had major losses before, such as the Scavengers in The Walking Dead season 8, she's likely to hold onto what power she has in the CRM in the present day.
Even so, her former alliance with Rick means The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live could explore where her desires truly lie. More about her role in the spinoff will be revealed later, alongside how much of an adversary she will be.
The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live airs on AMC and AMC+ February 25, 2024.
Created by Scott M. Gimple and Danai Gurira, The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live is a sequel spin-off series in The Walking Dead television franchise.
