Chantel Everett is a 32-year-old American model and reality tv star on the TLC show "The Family Chantel", which was the first spinoff series of the 90 Day Fiance conceived to focus on her marriage to 31-year-old Pedro Jimeno. Chantel Everett and Pedro Jimeno first appeared on the 90 Day Fiancé fourth season and are one of the most popular couples on the show.

Chantel and Pedro were the major focus of the show "The Family Chantel." Chantel and Pedro have always faced one relationship issue or another but her parents Karen and Thomas Everett tried to shield the family from the nonstop drama, which often had the opposite effect. While the couple had gone through some high highs and low lows, fans of the show have watched it all unfold. But what does Chantel's family think about her marriage and subsequent divorce from Pedro?

How Did Chantel And Pedro's Romance Begin?

Pedro and Chantel's love story began on a romantic trip to the Dominican Republic, where they got secretly engaged. After their engagement, they moved to Atlanta, Georgia, Chantel's hometown, and documented their journey on the hit reality show, "90 Day Fiance."

During this time, they awaited Pedro's K-1 Visa to the United States, even though Chantel had lied to her family that Pedro was on a student visa. They both went ahead and got married in a small romantic ceremony in Georgia. Pedro and Chantel later threw a larger celebration with Pedro's family in the Dominican Republic.

Since then, the couple's journey has been documented on the hit series "90 Day Fiance: Happily Ever After?" And later their own spinoff series, "The Family Chantel." The show, followed everything about both Chantel's and Pedro's families as they navigated the ups and downs of married life.

Their marriage, in the beginning, looked promising but due to their nonstop disagreements, allegations, trust issues and fights against one another, Pedro and Chantel seemed to have had enough of themselves and on the 27th of April 2022, Pedro and Chantel separated and lived separately. Pedro was the one who wanted the separation and was the first to move out.

"In Touch Weekly" followed up with the couple and reported in May 2022, that Pedro and Chantel purchased their first home in Lawrenceville, Georgia, which was about 34 miles outside of Atlanta, five bedrooms, three and a half bathrooms, and a neatly groomed yard are included in the 2,627 square foot house. Which seemed to have been in an effort to fix their relationship.

The drama was far from finished when Pedro filed for divorce from Chantel On May 27th, 2022, claiming that their marriage was "irretrievably broken" and asking that all of their assets be divided equally between them.

Chantel Everett was at that time still very much in love with Pedro and tried so hard to fix their relationship, but it proved futile, in response, she decided to go ahead to file her own divorce petition which brought an end to their marriage.

What Chantel Everett's Family Thought At The Time Of The Marriage

Chantel and Pedro always annoy each other and never seem to agree on anything, as were their families. Both families had differing expectations for Chantel and Pedro's union, which resulted in continued hostility and bitterness towards one another.

Chantel's parents were not pleased with the surprise marriage and thought Pedro's family to be quite difficult to deal with. They thought the marriage to Pedro was a source of stress from the very beginning.

They were not happy with Chantel's decision to marry a man from a different country and culture, and they were especially concerned about Pedro's motives for marrying Chantel. Her mother, Karen, has gone on record many times saying that she believed Pedro was only in it for the green card.

Her father, Thomas Everett, was also very vocal about his disapproval of their relationship. Despite their initial reservations, Karen and Thomas eventually accepted the marriage and welcomed Pedro into the family.

Winter Everett, Chantel's sister who also experienced relationship drama with her then-boyfriend said one time on the show that she didn't believe that Pedro was truly in love with her sister.

River, Chantel's brother and Pedro were always at loggerheads from the earlier parts of "The Family Chantel" series. The duo even got into a fight one time at a supposed peace-making family dinner that ended in a disaster. River had nothing to hide when he aired his opinion about his sister’s marriage to Pedro, He said that Pedro obviously has no respect for his sister and their entire family.

What Chantel Everett's Family Thought Of The Divorce

Given the tumultuous nature of their relationship, it was not surprising when Chantel announced her decision to divorce Pedro. While her family had their reservations about the marriage from the start, they were ultimately supportive of Chantel's decision.

Many fans had so much to say about how Pedro used Chantel and her being very naive to the signs, but Karen, Chantel's mother was never the type to hide her feeling and thoughts on the show. She still said her piece amid their divorce process.

Karen shared in an Instagram post on the 12th of July 2022 alongside a selfie of her and her husband. "This is a public service announcement!!! Fellow Parents! As long as you have breath in your bodies, don't ever allow anyone to mistreat or run rough shot over your children!!! God bless", this was obviously referring to Pedro.

Her father was relieved that she was no longer in a relationship with Pedro, and her mother expressed happiness that Chantel was finally free from the situation. Chantel's sister River was not as supportive as the other family members, and she even expressed a little bit of disappointment in Chantel for not making her marriage work out with Pedro.
