"Curious About Chandler Riggs' Start on The Walking Dead? How Old Was He When Filming Began?"

The Walking Dead is an apocalyptic series where death and destruction are all around. Unfortunately, this also affects the lives of the children living among the survivors. Some of the children featured are old enough to remember life before the outbreak, while others were born into this world where fighting for survival is the only way of life. How old was Chandler Riggs when he began starring in the series?

Chandler Riggs portrayed Carl Grimes, son of Rick (Andrew Lincoln), from seasons 1 to 8. At just 10 years old, Riggs began portraying Carl, his most significant role to date. Viewers watched him grow up on the series, giving him a special place in their hearts. In season 8, the fandom was shocked as the creators of the series drastically altered Carl's comic story, of which he survives until the end, and killed him off. Many viewers stopped watching the series after this event.

In the eleventh and final season of The Walking Dead, Riggs visited the set and saw his old cast mates. The scene at Hilltop, after the one-year time jump, needed extras, so they put Riggs in a hat and had him act as a gardener in that scene. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Riggs talks about what it was like to be back on the set of the series he grew up on.

In December 2023, Riggs was spotted filming in Tampa Bay, Florida. The film is an independent production from Shane Brady, the producer, writer, and director who also stars in the movie titled Hacked: A Double Entendre of Rage Fueled Karma. Riggs portrays the 'bad guy,' The Chameleon, who hacks into the wrong family as they come after him for revenge. Riggs will also star in the holiday film Breakup Season, which will debut in 2024.

In 2019, Riggs was cast in several episodes of A Million Little Things as PJ, whose name is later revealed to be Patrick Nelson. He returned in the second season of the ABC drama series. He will also star in the short film The Undergraduate.
