In years past, Hearties often looked forward to Christmas Day because they were sure to love one present given on that day—the When Calls the Heart Christmas movie. For the last few seasons, fans didn't get their yearly When Calls the Heart Christmas movie.
Instead, we got belated Christmas gifts with additional episodes added to the typical 10-episode season order. While fans enjoy the extra episodes, they also look forward to the Christmas movies. With production on Season 11 wrapping recently, could that mean our much-loved When Calls the Heart Christmas movie will be back?
Is there a When Calls the Heart Christmas movie in 2023?
Unfortunately, no. Hearties will be without a new When Calls the Heart Christmas movie again in 2023. But there are plenty of other holiday films to enjoy on Hallmark Channel, Hallmark Movies & Mysteries and other networks like Lifetime, UPtv and Great American Family.
What would a When Calls the Heart Christmas movie be about?If there was a 2023 When Calls the Heart Christmas movie, it would likely be a standalone story with perhaps a few references to the goings-on in Season 10 and hints of what's to come in Season 11.
They might have referenced Henry's (Martin Cummins) visit to Abigail (Lori Loughlin) and would likely have to make mention of whatever happened to Lucas (Chris McNally) after he won the governor's seat. Would they have addressed Elizabeth's indecisiveness between Lucas and Nathan (Kevin McGarry)? It looks like we'll have to wait for the Season 11 opener to find out the answer to that!
How many episodes were there in Season 10 of When Calls the Heart?
Because there was no Christmas movie prior to the Season 10 premiere, Hearties got 12 episodes of When Calls the Heart instead of the usual 10.
When and where will season 2 of When Hope Calls air?
Great American Family picked up a second season of When Hope Calls, the spinoff series of When Calls the Heart that originally premiered on Hallmark Movies Now. They filmed two episodes that served as a Christmas movie called When Hope Calls: A Country Christmas which premiered back in December 2021 on Great American Family.
Since the first season was filmed so long ago as well as waiting on production to set a date for Season 2 to begin filming, many of the actors have gone on to other projects in the meantime. Ryan-James Hatanaka starred in Criminal Minds: Evolution, Nurses, Nancy Drew and the live-action version of The Fairly Oddparents:

It was Loughlin's first foray back into television after serving her sentence in the Varsity Blues college admissions scandal. It's unclear if Loughlin or Ryan will return for the remainder of Season 2 of When Hope Calls.
